Most of my clients are perfectly capable of booking their own holidays. They're busy professionals, parents, retirees — people who've booked plenty of trips before. They come to me because they've reached a point where they'd rather hand it to someone who'll get it right, so they don't have to spend evenings comparing hotels and second-guessing flight times.
It's not about luxury. It's about having someone who takes the time to understand what you actually want, does the research properly, and comes back with a plan that makes sense.
What a travel consultant actually does
I don't just search the same websites you'd search. I have access to trade rates, package deals, and supplier relationships that aren't available to the public. I know which hotels are worth the money and which ones look better online than they are in person. I know which airlines are reliable on certain routes and which transfer companies actually turn up.
More than that, I plan the trip as a whole — not just the individual bookings. Flights that connect sensibly. Hotels in the right location. Enough time between stops. The kind of detail that makes the difference between a good trip and one that feels like hard work.
